PEAK PORTER

TEKLAS BARTIN

PROJECT

The automatic warehouse project at Teklas Bartın warehouse was realized by Peak Porter!

As the global leader in the automotive fluid systems industry, Teklas continues to lead the sector with 12 factories located in 6 different countries around the world. Thanks to its foresight in operational processes, Teklas is taking important steps towards increasing efficiency by automating its storage systems. In line with this goal, it applies state-of-the-art automated storage solutions to its warehouses in cooperation with Peak Porter.

Teklas has succeeded in minimizing errors as well as reducing manpower by preferring robot technologies in production and storage processes. In this way, disruptions and problems experienced in operations were largely eliminated. The company is extremely satisfied with the results achieved with the integration of automated storage systems.

We held meetings with our customer Teklas, who came together with us to install automatic warehouse systems in their factory, for the automatic warehouse they wanted to install. In this process, we listened and analyzed our customer’s expectations from Peak Porter and automatic warehouse solutions and shared our thoughts with our experience of more than 10 years.

Our Customer’ s Requests

  • Increasing location / Storage capacity
  • Elimination of errors due to human error
  • Acceleration of warehouse operation processes
  • Increasing efficiency and productivity
  • Reduction of labor costs

Designed in line with customer demands, the automated warehouse solutions have been developed for storing two different types of crates. The first system, Miniload, offers a structure where smaller crates are stored. Thanks to this system, the automatic storage of crates, bringing the desired crate in front of the working personnel, taking and placing materials from the crate can be realized with great ease. With the Miniload automated storage system, a 5000-location automated warehouse system was successfully installed, providing a higher utilization rate in the same storage area. This system includes a Crane and various automated storage components.

The second system, Kamasan, has a structure where large crates are stored. The Kamasan system has the same functions as Miniload, the only difference is that the crates being transported are larger and heavier. The Kamasan automated warehouse system has two Cranes working simultaneously. This storage solution, which was installed with a single-deep racking system, enabled the creation of a warehouse with a capacity of 6000 locations.

Customer’s Thoughts

Teklas’ Logistics and Planning Manager explains the challenges of their old manual warehouse and the process after the automated warehouse: “In our old manual warehouse, we were facing some problems when forklift operators were placing the produced products on the shelf. We were struggling with problems caused by human errors such as incorrect shelf placement, incorrect system movements and incorrect quantity records. With the transition to automated warehousing, we avoided such problems.”

In 2023, within the scope of our automated storage system project completed at Teklas Bartın facility, we developed solutions for two different types of crates. Thanks to this innovative system, we minimized costs and errors while providing efficiency, sustainability, productivity and storage capacity to our customers. In this way, we brought our operations to a more professional level.

Among the benefits that automated storage projects bring to the factory are the following:
  • Prevention of crop losses elimination of operation interruptions with 24/7 crane (SRM)
  • Achieving high storage capacity
  • Minimization of error rates
  • Increasing efficiency and sustainability levels

Thanks to this cooperation with Peak Porter, Teklas continues to be a pioneer in its sector by increasing its operational efficiency. Realizing the production and storage technologies of the future with automated storage solutions today, Teklas is determined to provide the best service to its customers.
